- We want your child’s first visit to the dentist to be a positive experience. During their first visit, you may be asked to sit in the dental chair and hold your child or have a seat in a separate chair or even wait in the reception area. This is all dependent on your child’s comfort level.
- During the first visit, we inspect your child’s teeth, look at your child’s gums, jaw and bite. The hygienist will take x-rays of the child’s teeth if necessary, clean the child’s teeth, and place a fluoride preparation on the teeth. You will have an opportunity to ask questions that you may have about your child’s teeth. (Also, you may want to make a list of questions before you arrive to the appointment to ask us.)
- NOTE !!!! Read the blog about the introducing your child to our office under Children Dentistry’s Blog
How do we relax your child during the first visit:

2.Voice Control – use a friendly tone which will relax them
3. Reinforcement - We compliment your child during the whole appointment
4.Distraction - Toddlers (We have a TV to watch) -we talk a lot to distract your child
